Nubian Water Systems has launched a Vehicle Wash Solution to assist the vehicle industry with sustainable practices to protect water resources and reduce costs associated with water use.
The Vehicle Wash Solution uses Nubian’s greywater treatment system, which recycles more than 80% of water used. The self-contained system can be installed on-site and removes the need for continuous water resource and related water permits.
Nubian installed the alternative wash solution for Hertz in Albury, NSW two years ago as a pilot after the vehicle hire firm discovered a license to connect to the local sewerage system would cost $33,000.
The system, combined with the stormwater tank that was also installed, has allowed the business to become self-sufficient in its water usage. Nubian said it saved Hertz Albury $25,000.
Tony Teggins, the owner of Hertz Albury, said "the system saved us money and our monthly water bills are significantly lower. It allows Hertz to wash cars on-site and because we are not using a continuous water supply we don’t worry about the effects of drought.”
“The main benefit is having a system installed on site saving my staff time and valuable effort. From an environmental point of view the system is brilliant.”
